Here are two main marketing strategies with their relevant budget requirements. 

  • Organic 

It is the marketing and brand reputation you get over time. No doubt, it’s my favorite strategy. But the only thing you may not like is that it takes time. 

You can’t get sales from tomorrow if you start today. Google SEO and social media accounts handling are its main parts. It could be very costly if you have to hire resources. 

  • Paid 

When did you last see a sponsored tag while browsing the internet? 

I’m sure it won’t be a long time ago. Any sort of ad is included in Paid advertising. It includes Google ads, Instagram ads, and Facebook ads. My fellow dropshippers tried Twitter ads too, but it was not profitable. 

You start your dropshipping ads with around 1000$ to 2000$. You need to search thoroughly to make a marketing strategy.

There are different ways to promote dropshipping stores. It all depends on your marketing budget and product nature. Here are the best ways to promote your store. 

1. Facebook & Instagram ads

I’ll explain it as the most used strategy to promote stores. It helps you to start your own Facebook campaigns too. 

Step 1: Ads account set up 

So you have decided about Paid campaigns and need to set up your accounts. If you are interested in FB & Insta marketing, sign up for them. Build your Facebook Page and then Instagram handler. Convert an individual Instagram account into a business account &link it with a FB page. 

Go to Facebook’s ad manager and link it to your Shopify. You may need to install FB pixel into your eCommerce store. The pixel tracks your data & helps you in campaign optimization. Set up conversion events and also make your products available on Facebook. I know it’s a boring process, but it is necessary. 

Step 2: Ads copies 

All setup and done? 

OK, the next step is high-converting AD copies. Where do you get it? Some suppliers provide it, and most of them do not. You also contact your sourcing agent if you don’t have any Ad copies. 

Now edit them if you do not have any good images or videos. In my experience, video marketing is more profitable and converting. Try to show real-life examples of your product videos and how they solve problems. 

Step 3: Marketing Campaigns

Now it’s time to run Facebook ads for your dropshipping businesses. Open your ads manager and find relevant interests to the target audience. Create many ads sets with different video ads. It was very helpful to find the winner of Facebook dropshipping ads. 

You get different categories of Insta or Facebook advertising. You manage both your advertising from a single ad manager. Allot your ad budget and keep checking your spending. I choose sales as my converting events because of the good results. 

Step 4: Optimizing your campaigns 

You have created ads, and now let them run for a few days. Here comes the time of optimization. You have to check your ad spending and sales. Close down your low-performing ad sets. 

Run some retargeting ads to check potential audiences. You should offer discounts and coupon codes in retargeting. Optimization is an important step in dropshipping marketing. 

2. Email marketing

The first step is to grab your customers’ emails. How to get that? Some people have a newsletter option for exclusive deals. Yet you use emails of your old & existing customers in this marketing. 

You should hire a professional copywriter for email marketing. They help you to get attention immediately. You should offer discounted deals to target customers. It has the lowest cost in eCommerce stores but is very profitable. 

3. Blog marketing

Good at writing? 

Hold On! Why don’t you try SEO blog writing for your online stores? You rank your content higher on search engines. This is the best way to generate free traffic with continued marketing efforts. 

My strategy of content marketing is only for a dedicated dropshipping niche. It is a time taking and slow process but very rewarding. It is costly if you are not good at writing & SEO. 

4. Influencer marketing 

Instagram is full of influencers and models in different niches. In this strategy, you send high-quality products to influencers. They use it and post reviews on their accounts or pages. You have to pay some sort of advertising fee or commission. 

This drop-shipping advertising was not much successful in my case. The main reasons for my failure were not niche-specific influencers. You use better strategies to increase sales. 

5. Google shopping ads 

Google display ads are good at targeting different keywords for a dropshipping site. Google Analytics has been very helpful for me in optimizing my PPC ad. This is very wide and complex for beginners but profitable too. You should hire an expert if you don’t know how to run ads on Google.
