Before you launch your eCommerce business, there are a few things you should keep in mind. I’d recommend that you choose a niche that you’re passionate about. It’s important to be knowledgea0ble about the products you’re selling, and it’ll be much easier to market your business if you’re excited about what you’re doing. Here are a few tips that we have used to guide our own processes and ultimate success:

1. Choose the right platform: Not all eCommerce platforms are created equal. Do your research and choose one that will offer the features and functionality you need to grow your business.

2. Invest in quality product photography: Good product photos are essential for attracting customers and making sales. If you’re not a professional photographer, consider hiring someone to help you take high-quality photos of your products.

3. Write compelling product descriptions: In addition to great photos, your products also need well-written descriptions that highlight their features and benefits. Take some time to craft descriptions that will both inform and persuade potential buyers. We specialised in Oak internal doors .

4. Offer competitive shipping rates: Shipping costs can be a major barrier to purchase, so be sure to offer rates that are competitive with other eCommerce businesses in your industry.

5. Provide excellent customer service: Customers expect a high level of service when they shop online, so make sure you’re renowned for this aspect of your order fulfilment and customers will return (and possibly refer you to their inner social circles).

By following these tips, you’ll be off to a great start in building a successful eCommerce business.

As market leaders in the fulfilment industry, we work very closely with our fulfilment partners who tend to be eCommerce-orientated. There’s a lot to learn, from building a website to shipping your products. Here are some of our top tips for new eCommerce businesses:

1. Don’t skimp on your website. Your website is your store window – it’s where customers will come to learn about your products and decide whether to buy from you. So make sure it’s professionally designed, user-friendly, and informative.

2. Get the right shipping strategy in place. Customers expect fast shipping these days, so make sure you can meet their expectations. Doing your research upfront will save you a lot of headaches (and money) down the road. We place a large emphasis on this with our own partners which is why we strive to maintain our same-day despatch for 98% of orders.

3. Use social media to your advantage. Social media is a powerful marketing tool for eCommerce businesses. Use it to connect with potential and current customers, build brand awareness, and drive traffic to your website.

4. Invest in good product photography. Professional-looking product photos are essential for driving sales on your website. Hire a professional photographer or invest in some high-quality equipment to make sure your products look their best online
5. Customer-centric service. At an early stage, embed this philosophy into your eCommerce framework. Reduce the room for human error, and make sure you dispatch the correct products in adequate packaging. Through our expertise, processes and technology, we pick and pack with industry-leading accuracy of 99.9%. That said, mistakes happen, if you dispatch the wrong item or a customer is unhappy with an aspect of your service – offer to resolve the issues promptly.

One tip I’d recommend to those getting into the Ecommerce world is to really focus on making that great first impression on a consumer or website visitor. There are studies that show that if people don’t like your site, or aren’t really blown away by it will click off within 30 seconds and those same people will most likely not come back and revisit your site.

In addition to having an eye catching ecommerce landing page, also focus on “wowing” consumers with your communication. Simply meaning make your emails and text messages that are sent to consumers be engaging and fun. It’s a must to make yourself stand out from competitors that are sending out ‘generic’ emails. Do something different and make that lasting impression on your consumer base, or I promise another business will.

1. Create a Credible Brand

Many new e-commerce store owners do not run their operations like a “real” business; as a result, they may ship goods that are of worse quality and arrive more slowly. As you would expect, doing this not only turns off consumers who will probably never buy from the vendor again, but also puts the seller in danger of chargebacks, refunds, and even the loss of their merchant processing account.

Find reliable suppliers who offer quick shipping, cultivate client happiness and loyalty, and exclusively market goods with which you are personally familiar. Retaining current clients is far less expensive than acquiring new ones. Your finest marketing resource will eventually be your consumers.

2. Increase Value of the Average Order

The next piece of advice is to pay attention to the average order value. By dividing the total income by the number of orders, this is determined. Let’s imagine that you have a consumer who is ready to buy or has recently bought a sweatshirt with a husky motif. You may make them a second offer that includes more of the same, or you can make them an offer for an equivalent good at a lower cost.

Because they don’t disrupt the purchasing process, I personally favor post-purchase upsells over pre-purchase upsells. A confused customer is not a customer.

One of my top tips for ecommerce newbies is to integrate your review collection process with your shipment tracking solution. It’s a classic newbie mistake to send out review collection emails before customers have received their packages, which can result in unnecessary negative feedback.

Instead, if you have tracking data integrated with your email or SMS solution, you can time it perfectly for when the customer has recently received their package, and it’s still top of mind.

To make it even better, when you send this follow-up to customers who recently received their product, you can offer them two paths – one to leave a review if they’re delighted with the product, and another to reach out to your customer support if there’s anything unsatisfactory. That will further reduce the likelihood of customers using the review function to provide negative feedback.

Be flexible with your shipping options. As well as offering different payment options, it’s a good idea to offer a range of different shipping options. This can be particularly important for businesses who need swift deliveries or special courier services for heavier, larger or more fragile goods.

Ecommerce is a booming industry that has been expanding for the past decade. With the increase in internet usage, more and more people are turning to online stores for their shopping needs. This is because online stores offer convenience as well as competitive prices.

However, with the increasing competition and complexity of ecommerce businesses, it can be quite difficult to establish a successful ecommerce business.

The best tips for starting a successful ecommerce business is to build your products around a specific audience. Too many newbies cater to everyone and end up not being able to sell to anyone.

Be specific about your target audience and understand the issues they’re facing, then sell products that are solutions to their problems.

Ecommerce business is a booming industry. It is projected to grow from $2.3 trillion in 2017 to $4.5 trillion by 2021.

Ecommerce business requires a lot of hard work and dedication, but it also has its advantages such as the flexibility and the ability to work from home.

Ecommerce businesses can be started with little or no investment if you are willing to take on some risk and start small.

Most newbies fail because they do not know how to generate traffic or sales to the store. They may have the best products but without any eyeballs there will be no sales.

Best advice is to pick a skill that is related to traffic generation for example facebook ads, google ads or even SEO.

eCommerce is a platform that has been expanding and growing rapidly over the past decade.

With new businesses launching online every day, you need to follow a few tips to make your business stand out.

Here are my top 3 tips for eCommerce business newbies:

#1 — Avoid the bells and whistles

There’s absolutely no need of having a very structured, unique store from the beginning with lots of plugins and features.

Instead, just use a pre-built system like Shopify and focus on sales and revenue optimization first.

Remember, you just need a simple store that markets your product to the right audience and helps you generate good revenue.

Once you are good with the sales — you can focus on upgrading your store’s looks and features.

#2 — Basic photoshoot of your products

A quality picture is worth a thousand words and a photoshoot can define your product, improve your brand recognition and increase sales.

It will give a clear picture to your customers about what they will receive when they buy something from your store.

#3 — Have a structured customer communication

Always give your audience a window to connect with you through live chat — this will let people talk directly to you on your website

An added live chat button will help you become more accessible and build trust with your target audience.
