Refund Options on AliExpress

There are two fundamental return options for the return process on Aliexpress. Here are these:

1. Refund Requests Without Returning Items

If you haven’t received the item, you can claim the full refund of your order shipped. It may have a logistics tracking problem or tracking number. My first step is to check its tracking and then contact the seller. I know it may take some time to a get response. 

Partial refunds also apply according to the Aliexpress refund policy. It applies to those products that have arrived in the wrong size and color. Moreover, the defective inventory also comes under partial refunds.

You can specify the refund amount and claim it on Aliexpress.

2. Refund request with the return of the item

When the wrong product has arrived, or you cancel an order, you need to send the item back to the suppliers. Even a counterfeit product can be part of returning inventory.

It is a bit complex process in which shipping costs count on you. Moreover, it might cost you more than your claim. So, if the product price is high, you should go ahead with the item return process with the original packaging and claim your money. Own cost for shipping might be painful. I tend to avoid return cases because international shipping costs are so high. 

How to get a refund on Aliexpress?

Do you want to get a full refund of your product purchase price? If yes, you need to follow three fundamental steps to refund.

Step 1: Collect the Evidence

If the seller has a guaranteed genuine product, but the product doesn’t match the seller’s description, you need to collect the evidence. Later on, you have to upload evidence and claim the refund. 

If the seal is broken, you can capture the video to keep it as evidence. I record videos while unpackaging my product. It helps me to have more evidence. 

Step 2: Open a dispute

The second step is to open a dispute with the seller. On AliExpress orders, you can open disputes when the seller ships inventory late or product quality is very much low. On the order details page, you need to specify the reason for your refund request and enter the amount to refund.

Step 3: Followup

Aliexpress allows five days for many sellers to respond to the request. On the dispute page, you can check the progress. If the seller doesn’t agree to your request, Aliexpress starts interfering with the dispute details.

Aliexpress has a buyer protection policy to pay through the safe payment method with a money-back guarantee.

• Money-Back Guarantee

Sellers provide a money-back guarantee on Aliexpress. You can request a refund and contact your seller about the product. The sellers will refund you within 15 days when the issue is solved. If the issue is not solved, you can contact Aliexpress for the refund process. In my experience, it usually takes some time to resolve issues. I check it over time to get updates. 

• Free Return

The seller might have the Free return service on the product details page. By that means, you don’t have to pay the shipping fee for the product. You need to label the item, send it to the local warehouse, and get paid for your returned item. You have 15 days from the purchase date.

• Local Return

An Aliexpress seller might allow the “Local Return” on its products. You get 15 days time frame with on-time delivery to decide whether you will keep the item or deliver it back to the supplier without any reason.

The delivery is free for the return items.

• Statutory Rights

The seller has to comply with the local rights in the area and open the Aliexpress account as per rules. It protects the customers from scams by fraudulent activities.
